final animation

final out come
i am happy with the overall out come of my project but if i was to do the same thing age i would draw more frames and make the animation smoother.

for some strange reason the quality of this animation does not seem as good on my blog as it does any were elts, the brightness is to high and it masks most of the lines and some of the colour seems dull

full circle

getting to the end of the animation and for the final part i am going to make the figure glow orange

and as the figure glows orange the cam will slowly zoom back into the still white sun

and at the very end... ping! the sun lights up, so the animation ends up were it began the only difference would be this last one would be in the colour.

poseidon

i wonted the sea to seem like it was being dragged in by the water flowing from the figures foot.

i wont it to stay the same distance away from the figures foot until hi hits the sand at the other side

electric yellow

i had to think of a way for the yellow from the figures leg to jump to the sand, my first thought was to make it like dust and it would float to were it needed to be, but then i realised that yellow dust would not show up to well against the green.

so i decided to make it look like lightning that way it could shoot to were it needed to be and it was very easy because the lightning did not have to look the same in every frame.

after the yellow hits the floor i wonted it to just vanish

like that

big blue sky

for some reason i rely enjoyed animating the sky, my plan was to leave tiny blue dots in the blue trail that would eventually grow and swell then fill the sky

notice hear how the blue dots from the last frame are getting bigger

making sure that shadows on the figure moved  realistically and responded to the position of the sun was a challenge it was mostly guess work and some hit and miss but i think it works nicely

end result a nice blue sky

i hate green

the first thing that is going to happen is the figure will turn all the grass green

a trail of green energy will flow off of the figures limb and when it comes into contact with the ground an area will light up green.

instead of turning all the grass green at once i decided it would look better if the grass grew out words and eventually filled the entire space

i wish i had not decided to do the grass fist because after this Early point in that animation every sing frame after would have to be green, if i ever see a green pencil again it will be to soon!

and so began the painful process

i only had to draw this circle a few time before i could start what i believed to be the fun part of animating the figure.

this back ground however had to be in 99% of my frames so you can guess how i feel about it now, the most misrable i have ever bin whilst drawing.

the first time i drew all my animations i never put any kind of shading in any of the frames so after i had finished going through the once i had to do it again, and then once more when i put the colour in.
before i started to draw the frames of my work i hit a little speed bump, how could i draw all the frames and keep them in proportion throughout my entire animation without my light box ( that i broke ) the it hit me if i drew out a light grid i could photocopy it as many times as i needed and if i stuck to the guide lines all my images would stay in proportion. i did plan on removing the lines from my frames to start with but i kind of like them there now it gives the whole thing a playful feeling like its not tacking its self to seriously.
these are some attempts at some basic movements the positions came from a short video i found on youtube

a bit more of an advanced move in this on, to make this work i think i will need to put a few more frames between these two points

practice figures

these are some of my first rough sketches of a man. my aim was to keep the figure somewhat faceless/without an identity i think it will give my final animation an mysterious feel.

the elongated limbs come into play when ever the figure make long fluid movements it will make the whole thing feel more smooth when its finished
